Renewable energies are popular in Germany. According to a representative poll carried out in September 2014 by TNS Emnid, 92 percent of all respondents attributed high or very high importance to expanding the renewable energies sector. Safeguarding the future of coming generations ist one of the most important reasons for the German energy transition, according to that poll. Climate protection also numbered among the most important advantages of renewables, mentioned in the survey.
